There were a few less people this year, but some new faces were among those present! A few people got up bright & early Saturday morning and hiked to the top of the rim that overlooks our campground.
Gilbert, Vladimir, Bob, Ted and Mark enjoyed some great views,
while Trooper enjoyed the water Gilbert brought along for him!
On Saturday afternoon many people, including Lisa and Savannah,
headed down to the beach where it was cooler than in the campground.
Jim and Sandy brought their boat to give ski-tube rides to many people,
most of them young, but not all. Could this be Jim's way of staying young?
The challenging part of ski-tubing is staying on. Someone in this picture tried their best!
Clara was ready with the 'skier in the water' flag when needed.
And Ted was keeping an eye on things too.
Dan, Jimmy and Gilbert enjoyed a different form of boating, once they had overcome some challenges of center of gravity in relation to a canoe's bouyancy.
The chapel webmaster was present for this little 'lesson in physics', but unfortunately did not have his camera at the ready.
Little Adrienne goes down to the beach, finds a new friend in Barbara ...
and tries making friends with Trooper who is looking a little shy here.
After a fun time at the lake, we all enjoyed dinner together barbecued by Bob, Gilbert and Ben.
Enjoying the fellowship were Martha and Holly
along with Vladimir and Lisa with Savannah.
Kimberly and Lynette brought Pilot along on the campout.
Neither Steve and Teddy with Zachary
or the Peterson family
seemed to mind the webmaster coming around with his camera.
On Sunday morning, we had a worship meeting with some time for sharing, observing the Lord's Supper, and some hymns. Gilbert then spoke about the need for recreation, about a Christian's need for quiet time and meditation.
In closing, we offer one more picture of the view from above, seen on the rim hike.
We would like to extend thanks to: Thank you for reading about our campout. Please accept my apologies for any names mis-spelled, or left out, or not quite correctly matched to people. I wanted to get good pictures of everyone, but unfortunately, missed some. Maybe next year! Go to top |
