The 2007 campout included a bit more time relaxing around our campsites than previous years. The weather was great for hiking during the day, and just a little chilly in the evenings.
If you've never been to Lake Billy Chinook, here is one view with a backdrop of mountains.       Lake Billy Chinook

So, what is there to do at a chapel campout? Chat with others, for one thing.   Fellowship     Or play a friendly game of backgammon as Jim & Ruth are doing here.   Backgammon

Backgammon shark?   We hope Jim continues playing friendly games because he is reputed to now be reading the book Backgammon for Blood! (Watch out, Haig!!)      Amy keeps an eye on, from left to right, Stormy, Roxy & Angel. Amy with friends

Angel is a very sweet dog, and very patient with someone poking a camera lens in her face! Angel       Stormy   Stormy looks more curious, but still did not seem to mind.

Mark & Ruth went for the six mile hike up the rim trail Saturday morning. Here is one part of the trail, crossing from one side of the 'peninsula' to the other. Ruth on trail    And here they are back at camp. Mark and Ruth

Lynette, Jennie & Wayne relax at their campsite... Lynette, Jennie & Wayne   and later, Clara and Jim have come over to visit. Clara and Jim

Stan   Our potluck barbecue Saturday evening was at Stan & Pamela's cabin just a few miles away. Barbecue   Stan did the barbecuing for us, with a little assistance from Gilbert as Jake looks on.

We had a time of sharing favorite Scripture passages after dinner, and then observed the Lord's Table.        Weather reports spoke of rain back in Portland, but it stopped at the mountains. This was our view to the west from Stan & Pamela's place. View to west

Gilbert found some quiet time for reading Sunday morning. Gilbert       And, as with all campouts, the time comes to start packing up, as Jake & Alicia are doing. Jake & Alicia

Wayne & Lynette       Are Wayne & Lynette preparing here to rob a bank?  No - they rode their Harley Davidson over to the campout, and are preparing for the ride home.       Wayne & Lynette

Jim, Clara and Gilbert consent to one last pose for the webmaster before heading back to town.
It's been one more fun campout!
Jim, Clara and Gilbert

We would like to extend thanks to Lynette for organizing the campout, to Stan & Pamela for their hospitality and Stan for his barbecue skills

Thank you for reading about our campout. Please accept my apologies for any names mis-spelled, or left out, or not quite correctly matched to people. I wanted to get good pictures of everyone, but unfortunately, missed some. Maybe next year!
